Non-Profit Created by CNHS Freshman Recognized as Service Organization of the Year
Colts Neck High School freshman Daniela Olt has wanted to help children in need since she was a young girl. At the age of seven, Daniela sent over 1,000 boxes of cookies and 300 brand new stuffed animals to children in Haiti after the earthquake of 2010. When Hurricane Sandy struck the area in 2012, Daniela collected over 3,000 books, toys, and gift cards which were distributed to children and schools directory affected by the storm. She went on to establish her own non-profit volunteer organization, Daniela’s Wish, to serve children who are suffering from illness or tragedy. Daniela’s Wish has granted “wishes” to many seriously ill children. The organization also provides local hospitals with new toys three times a year per hospital.
In recognition of her dedication, Daniela and her organization were recognized by the Howell Chamber of Commerce with their Service Organization of the Year Award.
In addition to that honor, Daniela was also a nominee for the 2016 Athena Young Professional Leadership Award from the Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce.
